P2P payments firm Valora launches “Mobile Stack” DApps launchpad

  • Valora launches “Mobile Stack” to enable mobile-first Web3 DApp development on iOS and Android.
  • Mobile Stack aims to improve UX and accessibility in the Web3 ecosystem.
  • Initial apps to launch on Mobile Stack include “Troopo” and “ChatGPT Data DAO.”

Valora, a peer-to-peer payments firm, has launched a groundbreaking decentralized, permissionless, and open protocol launchpad for Web3 decentralized applications (DApps) on iOS and Android dubbed “Mobile Stack.”

The Mobile Stack aims to extend Valora’s reach of Web3 beyond its current crypto-native audience. It offers a user-friendly platform designed to simplify the deployment of mobile-first DApps, addressing the gap in mobile-native experiences within the Web3 ecosystem.

Valora is set to revolutionize Web3 with Mobile Stack

Mobile Stack seeks to revolutionize the Web3 space by providing developers with a streamlined, intuitive platform for creating and deploying mobile-first DApps.

According to Valora, only 8 of the top 100 Web3 apps listed on DApp Radar offer a mobile-native experience. This statistic highlights the significant opportunity for improvement, given that smartphones are the primary devices used by seven billion people worldwide to interact and transact online.

The current state of DApp user experience is often described as cumbersome due to the need to combine wallet apps with browsers or desktop applications to interface with Web3 applications.

Valora aims to change this by making UX a priority in Web3 development, ensuring that mobile experiences are as seamless and user-friendly as possible.

Mobile Stack serves as a customizable platform, functioning as a blank canvas with the necessary protocols and features in place for Web3 functionality. Developers can take the app and tailor it to their specific needs using only the protocols necessary for their DApp.

Stake Capital and Vana the first to launch apps on Mobile Stack

“Troopo,” a savings and earnings app from Stake Capital, and Vana’s “ChatGPT Data DAO,” a user-operated DApp aimed at empowering users to monetize their data are among the first applications to launch on Mobile Stack.

These initial apps demonstrate the versatility and potential of Mobile Stack in bringing innovative solutions to the mobile Web3 space.

Valora envisions a wide range of use cases for its Mobile Stack platform, including borderless peer-to-peer payments, simplified onboarding apps for decentralized finance (DeFi) services, driving universal basic income programs in emerging markets, and enabling “learn-to-earn” campaigns with partners such as cryptocurrency exchanges.

By providing a robust and flexible platform, Valora aims to lower the barriers to entry for developers and users alike, fostering greater adoption and innovation within the Web3 ecosystem.

Valora rapidly expanding its use cases in the Web3 space

Founded in 2020 as a decentralized wallet operating on the Celo network, Valora has quickly established itself as a key player in the Web3 space. The company completed a $20 million funding round led by A16z in 2021, underscoring its potential and commitment to advancing the Web3 landscape.

With Mobile Stack, Valora is poised to significantly impact the way DApps are developed and utilized, making Web3 more accessible and user-friendly for a global audience.

Valora’s commitment to driving Web3 adoption through mobile technology will be prominently showcased at EthCC, where key members of the team will be speaking and hosting events. CTO Silas Bw will discuss strategies for onboarding the next billion users into Web3 through mobile technology at Stable Summit II. Meanwhile, Head of Product Laura will address improving crypto UX and making Web3 mobile.

Additionally, Valora is hosting a “Welcome to Brussels” cocktail hour in partnership with Vana, Ora Protocol, and Capsule, offering attendees an opportunity to discuss the future of Web3 in a relaxed setting.

Through initiatives like Mobile Stack and active community engagement, Valora is not only addressing current challenges in the Web3 space but also paving the way for a more inclusive and accessible digital future.

Nigerian Kucoin users to pay 7.5% VAT on all transactions

  • Starting Monday, July 8th, Kucoin will charge a 7.5% tax on all transactions made by users registered in Nigeria.
  • This decision comes from a regulatory update from the Nigerian SEC.

Kucoin exchange took to Twitter (X) to announce that starting Monday, July 8th, Nigerian users will be charged a 7.5% value-added tax on all transactions. This move, spurred by the Nigerian SEC’s regulatory actions, comes a month after the regulator asked all crypto exchanges and businesses to re-register or risk enforcement action.

This levy may be a sign that the Nigerian SEC is at the early stages of recognising cryptocurrencies, three years after the country’s Central Bank ordered banks to stop transacting with cryptos either for themselves or corporate entities.

The Nigerian government has tried to impose a 10% levy on crypto transactions through the 2023 Finance Act but was unable to enforce it due largely to regulatory opacity.

While the SEC Chairman Emomotimi Agama has not commented on the new tax, the regulator admits that this new rule is part of its plan to regulate crypto.

Tequila (JULIO), the new SOL meme coin launching next week

  • Tequila (JULIO) will launch on July 10, from Jalisco to Solana with love
  • Total supply is 100,000,000, with 90% set for the fair launch and 10% for marketing.
  • JULIO will list on Raydium at launch, with centralized crypto exchanges (CEXs) to follow.

Tequila is one of the world’s most popular distilled liquors, enjoyed by many amid unforgettable fun-filled moments and nights. This celebration comes to Solana via the newest alcohol-themed meme coin – Tequila (JULIO).

From Mexico’s agave fields to the world, JULIO arrives on July 10, 2024.

Are you a meme coin enthusiast and tequila aficionado? Get an early glimpse at the future of meme coins on the official website.

Here’s what to know about Tequila (JULIO) ahead of launch.

What is JULIO?

In 2024, Mexico has so far exported over 401 million liters of Tequila, with total revenue expected to exceed $32 billion by the end of the year.

Tequila (JULIO) is a new meme coin that seeks to combine this growth potential and bring the fun to crypto. It’s where fiestas will marry opportunity, launching nights to remember.

Inspired by Mexico’s finest, Tequila is the meme coin that will honor tradition while inspiring daring enthusiasts to experience the adventure of meme-driven crypto.

Tequila will be a fair launch

On July 10, Tequila will launch with 90% of the 100 million supply available. It’s a fair launch, which means there’s no presale or other allocations. Only 10% of JULIO will be reserved for the important ecosystem role of juicing Tequila’s marketing.

What this means is the fair distribution awaits and tokens will enter price discovery as they land on the open market.

Listed on Raydium

In recent weeks, savvy investors have turned peanuts into life-changing money with key meme coin purchases. Arkham highlighted two such investors this week, with a Solana trader turning $1.61 into $1.6k by buying DADDY as it launched on Raydium. Another trader turned $1.38 to $10.7k.

JULIO will list on Raydium, the Solana-based DEX and automated market maker (AMM) and liquidity provider. On the platform, one can swap and trade tokens, as well be a liquidity provider. This is the first platform to list JULIO when it goes live next week.

Tequila (JULIO) roadmap

The Tequila roadmap has four development phases: Agave plating, distillation, aging and bottling. Phase 1 will include the JULIO fair launch, marketing and listing on CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko.

Phase three will see Tequila target CEX listings, including tier 1 exchanges as well as launch tequila themed-parties.

In the last phase, with JULIO likely dominating the meme coin market, the project will embark on expanding the meme coin’s utility, launch a layer 3 platform and unveil the Tequila spirit. The project will have the spirit paid for exclusively via the native $JULIO token.

The wrap up

Meme coins have recently mirrored struggles in the crypto market. However, a new meme cycle is upon the ecosystem and alcohol-themed tokens are the new trend. Tequila (JULIO) is launching just when these meme coins are set to flip the current momentum.

UK High Court issues asset freeze order against Craig Wright

  • The UK High Court has granted Peter McCormack’s application for a World Freezing Order against Craig Wright’s assets.
  • McCormack seeks to recover over £1.5 million ($1.9 million) in legal fees relating to Wright’s libel case against the podcaster.

The UK High Court has issued a World Freezing Order, or ‘WFO’ against assets of Craig Wright, the Australian computer scientist who sued entrepreneur and podcast host Peter McCormack in 2019.

In this case, the court has granted McCormack’s application for WFO against Wright, with the verdict set to see McCormack recover over £1.5 million ($1.9 million) in legal fees.

This is according to legal documents filed on Friday, July 5.

Wright sued McCormack for defamation, and lost

In 2019, Wright filed a libel case against McCormack accusing the podcaster of defamation over remarks that Wright was not Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto.

Wright lost that case in August 2022 and an appeal was dismissed on July 26, 2023. The UK Supreme Court also refused Wright’s appeal in December 2023.

In his judgment, Justice Mellor also noted the developments around the COPA Trial. In May 2024, the judge ruled that Craig Wright is not Satoshi Nakamoto nor the creator of Bitcoin. The ruling also clarified that Craig did not author the Bitcoin White Paper that ushered in the world’s largest digital asset.

Peter McCormack shared the latest verdict against Wright in this matter, noting that worldwide freezing order “in the sum of £1.548m” was to aid in the recovery of his legal fees.
