Cardano slides near $0.20 as bearish derivatives weigh on ADA

Key takeaways

  • Cardano trades near $0.201 on Monday, extending its decline after three consecutive losing weeks.
  • Funding has turned negative at -0.0032%, reinforcing the bearish derivatives picture.
  • ADA faces initial resistance at $0.213, while weak momentum leaves recovery attempts vulnerable.

Cardano fell below $0.202 on Monday as pressure persisted across its derivatives, spot, and technical indicators.

ADA traded around $0.201 following three consecutive weeks of losses, with its decline exceeding 20% since early October. The token remains beneath several major moving averages, suggesting buyers have yet to establish a sustained recovery.

Although momentum is approaching oversold territory, the broader setup continues to favor sellers. Any near-term rebound would face several resistance levels before materially improving the outlook.

Derivatives positioning tilts toward shorts

CoinGlass data shows Cardano’s long-to-short ratio at 0.92 on Monday, close to its lowest reading in more than a month.

A reading below one indicates that short positioning outweighs long positioning within the measured dataset. The figure points to a cautious market in which traders continue to favor downside exposure.

ADA’s funding rate also turned negative, reaching -0.0032%. Negative funding means short traders are paying longs to maintain their positions, consistent with stronger demand for bearish exposure.

Together, the metrics reinforce the weak price trend, although neither guarantees that losses will continue.

CryptoQuant’s summary indicators add to the cautious picture. The platform flags large whale orders and overheating conditions in Cardano’s futures market. Its spot and futures indicators also show sell-side dominance, suggesting selling pressure extends beyond leveraged positioning.

Large orders alone do not establish the direction of whale activity. However, alongside the reported selling imbalance and negative funding, the data offers limited evidence of a decisive shift toward stronger buying demand.

ADA remains below key moving averages

Cardano’s daily technical structure remains bearish, with its price below the 50-day, 100-day, and 200-day Exponential Moving Averages.

These averages sit between approximately $0.218 and $0.237, forming a series of overhead barriers.

The Relative Strength Index stands at 33, just above the conventional oversold threshold of 30. That reading reflects persistent weakness while leaving room for a short-lived corrective bounce.

The Moving Average Convergence Divergence indicator remains negative, with the MACD line below its signal line. Its subdued bearish profile provides little confirmation that momentum is turning in buyers’ favor.

ADA/USD 4-hour Chart

The former trendline break near $0.213 represents Cardano’s immediate resistance. Above that, buyers would face the 100-day EMA at $0.218 and the 50-day EMA at $0.224. Further resistance sits around $0.236, reinforced by the nearby 200-day EMA at $0.237.

A sustained move through that cluster would bring $0.245 into focus, while $0.299 remains a more distant barrier.

On the downside, $0.200 is the nearest psychological reference as ADA trades just above it.

For buyers, reclaiming $0.213 would be an initial improvement. A more convincing recovery would require ADA to overcome its moving averages alongside stronger momentum and easing selling pressure.

Bitcoin holds near $81,800 as BTC defends key support

Key takeaways

  • BTC traded around $81,593, above its 50-day EMA at $80,878.
  • Bitcoin’s RSI near 47 and slightly negative MACD suggest recovery momentum remains weak.
  • BTC faces resistance at $85,000, with deeper support at $77,528 and $76,186.

Crypto prices stabilize after support tests

Bitcoin, Ethereum and XRP edged higher on Friday after the previous session’s correction brought all three assets toward important technical support levels.

Bitcoin held just near its 50-day Exponential Moving Average, Ethereum found support around its 100-day EMA, and XRP maintained its horizontal floor near $1.300.

The modest rebound suggests buyers remain active around these levels. However, the recovery remains dependent on support holding, with decisive daily closes below those areas potentially opening the door to a deeper correction.

Bitcoin holds its 50-Day EMA

Bitcoin traded just below $81,856 on Friday, remaining above its 50-day EMA at $80,878.

Holding that average preserves a constructive technical backdrop despite the recent consolidation. The 100-day EMA at $77,528 and the 200-day EMA at $76,186 also remain below the current price, providing additional support for the broader trend.

Momentum indicators offer less convincing evidence of an immediate rally. The Relative Strength Index sits near 46, slightly below the neutral 50 threshold, suggesting buyers have yet to establish clear control. Meanwhile, the Moving Average Convergence Divergence remains marginally negative.

Together, those readings indicate stabilization rather than a confirmed bullish reversal. The first major upside barrier is the horizontal resistance near $85,000, where previous selling could limit recovery attempts.

BTC/USD Daily Chart

A sustained move toward that level would test whether buyers can build on Friday’s rebound. Stronger momentum would be needed to turn the current support defense into a more durable advance.

Until then, Bitcoin remains vulnerable to further consolidation as buying interest below price competes with overhead supply.

On the downside, the 50-day EMA at $80,878 remains the immediate level to watch. A decisive daily close below it would weaken the recovery setup and bring the 100-day EMA at $77,528 into focus. Further selling could expose the 200-day EMA at $76,186.

Cardano risks further losses as ADA drops below the $0.220 support

Key takeaways

  • Cardano trades below $0.22 after failing to sustain a move above its 50-day EMA.
  • ADA’s long-to-short ratio stands at 0.79, approaching its lowest reading in more than a month.
  • Negative funding rates indicate increased demand for bearish derivatives exposure.

Cardano recovery stalls below key moving average

Cardano remained under pressure on Thursday, trading below $0.220 after buyers failed to sustain the previous day’s recovery above the 50-day Exponential Moving Average.

The rejection leaves ADA below its 50-day and 200-day EMAs, maintaining a bearish near-term outlook. Price is now hovering just above the 100-day EMA around $0.220, placing immediate support within reach.

Weak derivatives positioning and subdued momentum suggest buyers have yet to establish enough strength to reverse the corrective trend.

CoinGlass data showed Cardano’s long-to-short ratio at 0.96 on Thursday, nearing its lowest level in more than a month.

The reading indicates a greater share of short positioning among the accounts measured, reflecting caution about ADA’s recovery prospects.

Funding rates reinforced that picture. Cardano’s rate turned negative on Wednesday and stood at -0.0025% on Thursday, meaning short-position holders were paying longs.

Together, the readings point to a bearish tilt in derivatives positioning. They do not guarantee further losses, but they provide little confirmation of renewed bullish conviction.

CryptoQuant’s summary data also indicated selling pressure across Cardano markets. The platform identified large whale orders and heating conditions in futures trading, alongside sell-side dominance in both spot and futures markets.

Large orders alone do not establish direction. However, their presence alongside stronger selling activity adds to the cautious backdrop as ADA struggles beneath overhead resistance.

A stronger recovery would require buyers to absorb that supply and sustain price gains beyond nearby technical barriers.

ADA drops below $0.220 as momentum remains weak

Cardano’s daily momentum indicators continue to favor caution. The Relative Strength Index remains in the low-40s, below the neutral 50 threshold.

Meanwhile, the Moving Average Convergence Divergence remains negative, suggesting that bearish pressure may be easing without a confirmed reversal.

The first support to watch is the 100-day EMA near $0.220. A sustained break below that level would bring the $0.210 area into focus.

If selling extends through $0.210, the chart points to a deeper support region around $0.170. That remains a downside scenario dependent on a breakdown of the nearer support levels.

ADA/USD Daily Chart

On the upside, the 50-day EMA around 0.228–0.230 forms the first recovery barrier. A sustained move above that zone would ease immediate pressure and shift attention toward horizontal resistance near $0.236, followed by the 200-day EMA around $0.240.

Further resistance lies near $0.250, with $0.300 a more distant level should a broader recovery develop.

For now, ADA’s ability to hold $0.220 remains central to its short-term outlook as bearish derivatives positioning and weak momentum limit recovery attempts.

DefiLlama report: nearly 90% of FXRP supply is locked in DeFi

  • Nearly 90% of circulating FXRP supply is deployed across DeFi protocols.
  • Flare Data Connector fees now account for 45% of protocol revenue.
  • Flare plans Bitcoin integration and mainnet deployment of confidential computing.

Nearly 90% of the circulating supply of FXRP, Flare’s XRP-focused token, is deployed across decentralised finance (DeFi) protocols, according to a new report by DefiLlama examining the blockchain network’s adoption, technology and token economics.

The analysis found that approximately 129 million of the 145 million FXRP tokens in circulation were deployed across DeFi applications.

The findings highlight the growing use of XRP-linked assets in lending, borrowing and other decentralised financial services.

FXRP launched in September 2025 through Flare’s FAssets system, which enables XRP holders to access DeFi opportunities.

Flare is an Ethereum Virtual Machine-compatible Layer 1 blockchain focused on decentralised data infrastructure.

Lending markets account for the largest FXRP deployment

Lending markets represent the largest use of deployed FXRP, with activity across Morpho and Kinetic on Flare, Morpho on Ethereum and Euler on Monad.

Much of the token supply is used as collateral, allowing holders to borrow against their XRP exposure instead of selling their holdings.

This creates a way for investors to access liquidity while retaining exposure to the underlying asset.

The report highlighted activity in Sentora’s RLUSD vault on Morpho, where 10.6 million FXRP tokens backed $7.9 million of RLUSD supplied in late September.

The figures indicate that FXRP is being used beyond simple token transfers, with holders deploying the asset into lending markets and other financial applications.

Cross-chain adoption has also expanded. Approximately 20 million FXRP tokens are now deployed outside Flare, representing a fivefold increase since July.

Issued as a LayerZero Omnichain Fungible Token, FXRP has expanded to seven networks.

The token also became the first XRP spot pair on HyperCore in January, according to the announcement.

Flare data fees become its fastest-growing revenue source

Beyond its XRP-focused DeFi ecosystem, the report examined the development of Flare’s data infrastructure and its contribution to network revenue.

Since the implementation of FIP.16, fees generated by the Flare Data Connector have grown faster than those of any other protocol revenue source.

The connector verifies events occurring on other blockchain networks and now accounts for 45% of Flare’s total protocol revenue.

The report also identified a change in FLR staking patterns.

Between April and August, the share of staked or delegated FLR represented by directly staked tokens rose from approximately 32% to 46%.

The shift followed a July hard fork that gave greater weight to direct staking.

These developments suggest that Flare’s data-related services are becoming a more significant component of its network economics, alongside the growth of applications built around XRP.

Confidential computing and Bitcoin integration are next milestones

Flare is also developing Flare Confidential Compute (FCC), a system designed to let smart contracts verify results derived from private institutional data without exposing sensitive information.

Its first institutional application is live on the Songbird canary network and supports proof of reserves for Hex Trust’s USDX stablecoin.

DefiLlama described the potential role of the technology as expanding beyond conventional data feeds.

The report stated that as applications grow, FCC “becomes closer to an oracle primitive for private data, playing the role for institutional information that FTSO plays for public prices.”

Looking ahead, the report identified the planned FBTC product for Bitcoin integration, the mainnet deployment of Confidential Compute and higher protocol revenue as key milestones for Flare.

Progress on these initiatives will help determine whether the network can extend its data infrastructure beyond XRP-focused applications and attract broader institutional participation in decentralised finance.

Bitcoin holds near $83k as easing bearish momentum puts $89,337 in focus

Key takeaways

  • Bitcoin traded around $82,800 on Wednesday, maintaining gains from the previous session.
  • BTC remains above its 50-day and 200-day EMAs, supporting a constructive technical backdrop.
  • Support lies at $80,769, with deeper levels at $77,862 and $76,090.

Bitcoin stabilizes after bullish daily close

Bitcoin held near $82,800 on Wednesday after a modest recovery the previous day, as easing selling pressure supported hopes of further gains.

Ethereum and XRP also remained steady following bullish daily closes, according to the report. However, the supplied technical analysis focuses on Bitcoin.

BTC continues to trade above its 50-day Exponential Moving Average at $80,769 and its 200-day EMA at $76,090. Holding those levels preserves a constructive backdrop, although buyers still need stronger momentum to sustain an extended rally.

Bitcoin’s daily Moving Average Convergence Divergence indicator is approaching a crossover above its signal line.

A completed bullish crossover would strengthen the case that downward momentum is fading. For now, the signal remains unconfirmed.

The Relative Strength Index stands near 51, slightly above its neutral midpoint. That reading suggests a modest improvement in momentum without indicating particularly strong buying pressure or overbought conditions.

Together, the indicators point to stabilization rather than a decisive breakout. Continued price gains would provide stronger confirmation that buyers are gaining control.

Bitcoin faces upside resistance at $89,337

The BTC/USD daily chart shows the 78.6% Fibonacci retracement near $89,337 as an important resistance level if Bitcoin’s recovery extends.

The retracement is drawn between a lower anchor at $57,800 and the upper reference at $97,924.

A sustained move through $89,337 would bring the $97,924 area into focus as the next major target in that framework.

These levels represent conditional technical objectives. Bitcoin would still need follow-through buying to move meaningfully higher from its current position near $83,000.

The first significant support level is the 50-day EMA near $80,769. Holding that average would help preserve the latest recovery structure.

BTC/USD Daily Chart

A sustained break beneath it would weaken the near-term bullish outlook and shift attention toward the 50% Fibonacci retracement at $77,862.

Below that, the 200-day EMA at $76,090 provides a deeper reference for the broader trend.

Bitcoin’s immediate outlook therefore rests on maintaining support while momentum improves. A confirmed MACD crossover, accompanied by sustained buying, would offer clearer evidence that the recovery can extend toward overhead resistance.
