FIFA Collect moves to Avalanche layer-1

  • Modex is named as the technical partner and infrastructure provider.
  • FIFA Rivals to offer an NFT marketplace through Mythical Games.
  • Blockchain to support NFTs, games, and digital fan assets.

FIFA is building a dedicated Layer-1 blockchain in collaboration with Avalanche and Modex, set to host its FIFA Collect digital collectibles.

The migration, scheduled after May 20, will establish a custom blockchain infrastructure tailored for fan-focused NFTs and digital memorabilia.

This move signals FIFA’s broader commitment to blockchain technology and comes amid growing interest in sports-themed digital assets.

With the upcoming launch, Avalanche confirmed that FIFA Collect will be the inaugural application on the new chain, aiming to enhance scalability, security, and fan experience.

Modex to lead infrastructure and FIFA Collect upgrade

As part of the shift, Modex has been appointed as the technical partner and infrastructure provider.

Its role includes designing the architecture for FIFA’s Layer-1 chain and upgrading the FIFA Collect marketplace.

Modex is expected to deliver a seamless migration and support FIFA’s ambitions to expand its digital ecosystem.

The updated platform will feature regular digital drops centred around iconic players, clubs, and moments in global football.

These collectibles have previously been distributed via FIFA’s Drops Page, and the format is expected to continue on the new network.

The migration also aligns with Avalanche’s roadmap to host high-throughput, asset-rich applications.

Layer-1 blockchain to support NFTs, games, and digital assets

According to Avalanche’s official blog and FIFA’s FAQ section, the Layer-1 blockchain will not only support FIFA Collect but also provide a foundation for future integrations, including NFT-based games and tokenised fan experiences.

The infrastructure will accommodate a wide range of digital assets, aiming to deliver a “football-first” user experience.

This Layer-1 launch is FIFA’s most comprehensive blockchain initiative to date.

While FIFA previously explored Web3 during the 2022 Qatar World Cup through various blockchain games and collectibles, this dedicated chain reflects a strategic leap.

FIFA Collect will now become a cornerstone of that strategy, combining blockchain-based fan engagement with scalable NFT delivery mechanisms.

FIFA Rivals and the growing digital sports economy

FIFA’s blockchain roadmap also includes external projects like FIFA Rivals, a mobile football game developed by Mythical Games.

The game will feature an integrated NFT marketplace and allow users to trade footballer NFTs. The initiative underscores FIFA’s intent to be active in multiple digital domains.

As per BeInCrypto, FIFA Rivals is expected to bridge gaming and digital asset ownership, targeting mobile-first audiences with licensed content.

The announcement adds to the growing list of sports properties embracing Web3 infrastructure.

The broader trend shows strong momentum, with blockchain-based fan engagement tools increasingly adopted by sporting bodies worldwide.

Avalanche’s involvement offers FIFA a robust foundation for experimentation across NFTs, games, and digital rewards.

Cardano price surges past $0.80: where is ADA headed?

  • Cardano has surged more than 65% since its April low of $0.5114.
  • Derivatives open interest hits 2025 high of $917 million.
  • A breakout above $0.85 could send the price to $0.93 in the near term.

Cardano’s ADA token is once again in the spotlight after bouncing sharply from its April lows to reclaim the $0.80 mark.

The move follows a surge in Bitcoin to a fresh all-time high of $111,861 on 22 May, which lifted sentiment across the crypto sector.

This broader market optimism has pushed ADA up over 65% from its recent trough, fuelling a renewed bullish narrative.

Analysts are now watching closely to see if Cardano can sustain momentum and test the next resistance zone near $0.93 in the days ahead.

At the time of writing, Cardano is trading at $0.8026.

Cardano price structure signals upside continuation

Cardano’s current rally comes after a volatile two-month stretch that saw its price tumble from $1.19 on 2 March to a low of $0.5114 by 2 April — a 57% decline driven largely by profit-taking.

Since that low, ADA has steadily climbed, reclaiming $0.84 on 10 May before a minor pullback to $0.71 on 19 May.

The rebound above $0.80 this week suggests resilience in bullish structure, characterised by higher lows and a break above a rising trendline.

Key Fibonacci retracement levels show support at $0.7526 (0.236 Fib) and immediate resistance at $0.8533 (0.5 Fib).

A confirmed breakout above this zone could lead to a retest of $0.934 (0.618 Fib) in the short term.

This price structure is further reinforced by the RSI, which recovered from 45–48 last week to 61.13 on 22 May, indicating strengthening buying momentum.

The MACD also completed a bullish crossover on 21–22 May, and green histogram bars have continued to expand, adding confirmation to the upward trend.

BBTrend, volume, and derivatives metrics confirm momentum

The BBTrend indicator, which measures directional strength based on Bollinger Band volatility, has flipped significantly, moving to +8.9913 — the most bullish reading in months.

This shift signals not only increased price volatility but also a directional tilt in favour of bulls.

Volume and derivatives data further confirm the bullish outlook. Open interest in ADA-related derivatives markets has surged to $917 million, the highest level seen in 2025.

This jump in open positions suggests increased confidence and capital deployment from traders, which supports the sustainability of the ongoing rally.

Spot trading volumes have also picked up after a slow start to the month, indicating stronger retail participation as ADA regains price levels not seen since March.

Key price levels to watch this week

Traders are closely watching the $0.85 resistance zone. A successful breakout above this could accelerate gains toward $0.93–$0.94 over the next 7–10 days.

On the downside, the $0.75–$0.77 support band remains critical. A breakdown below this range could expose ADA to deeper losses, possibly toward $0.72 or even $0.647 if selling pressure increases.

While the overall technical setup remains bullish, much depends on whether the price holds key support levels and maintains current volume momentum.

Bitcoin eyes $112k as Strategy announces plans to buy $2.1B BTC

  • Bitcoin (BTC) price trades above $111,400 and eyes $112k amid new bullish momentum.
  • Strategy, formerly MicroStrategy, has announced plans to buy up to $2.1 billion in BTC.
  • The company’s plans and overall market outlook are boosting bulls.

Bitcoin (BTC) rose above $111,000 again after a brief retreat from its all-time high.

The top crypto traded at $111,486 at the time of writing, just off the ATH of $111,861 reached on Wednesday.

While the daily range included a revisit of prices below $111k, Strategy’s, formerly MicroStrategy, announcement looks to have injected fresh impetus into Bitcoin bulls.

With BTC near $111.5k, bullish sentiment could see it line up another explosive run.

This is after Michael Saylor’s Strategy revealed plans to buy an additional BTC worth $2.1 billion.

On May 22, 2025, Strategy disclosed the intended BTC purchase in a prospectus supplement that the company filed with regulators.

The filing shows that Saylor’s publicly-listed firm plans to issue up to $2.1 billion of its 10.00% Series A perpetual preferred stock and use the proceeds to add to its Bitcoin strategy. Funds will also go into working capital.

“Strategy expects to make sales of perpetual strife preferred stock pursuant to the ATM Program in a disciplined manner over an extended period, taking into account the trading price and trading volumes of the perpetual strife preferred stock at the time of sale. Strategy intends to use the net proceeds from the ATM Program for general corporate purposes, including the acquisition of bitcoin, and for working capital,” the company said in a press release.

Bitcoin price prediction

Crypto investor and analyst Scott Melker posted on X that Bitcoin had just completed a “golden cross”, between the 50-day and 200-day moving averages.

He shared a chart showing the potential BTC price pump.

“This is the third since late 2023. As you can see, each was preceded by a “death cross,” which has always been a lagging signal at the bottom,” he noted. “Each Golden Cross led to a parabolic advance.”

Here’s Scott Melker, aka Wolf of All Streets’ post with a Bitcoin price chart.

After hitting highs above $110k, analysts are bullish that the next target for BTC could be $120k by the end of the second quarter.

Standard Chartered forecasts a run to $200k by the end of the year, while gains amid institutional interest could send Bitcoin price to above $500k by 2029.

In the tailwinds corner for BTC price could be the “massive liquidity boom” that Bitcoin maxi Fred Kreuger says will soon hit the market.

Bitcoin price has increased by over 4% in the past 24 hours and over 25% in the past month.

Michigan lawmakers introduce 4 crypto bills as Congressmen revive Blockchain Regulatory Certainty bill

  • Michigan’s HB 4510 allows pension funds to invest in crypto ETFs.
  • HB 4512 enables Bitcoin mining at abandoned oil or gas wells.
  • HB 4513 offers income tax breaks to miners in remediation schemes.

State and federal lawmakers are charting a new course for cryptocurrency in the United States.

In Michigan, a legislative package of four crypto-focused bills is moving forward, combining pension fund exposure, environmental cleanups, and digital asset rights.

At the same time, lawmakers in Washington have reintroduced a bill to clarify the regulatory obligations of blockchain developers and non-custodial providers.

These coordinated efforts aim to balance innovation with accountability, as regulators seek to provide legal clarity without stifling decentralised finance.

The push reflects a growing political will to define crypto’s role within the broader financial and technological landscape.

Michigan bill allows crypto in pension funds

One of the most significant pieces of Michigan’s legislation is House Bill 4510, which would permit state-managed retirement systems to invest in cryptocurrencies through regulated financial products, such as exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

These investment vehicles must meet market capitalisation thresholds and be overseen by relevant financial authorities, offering a relatively conservative pathway for exposure to assets like Bitcoin.

The proposal comes amid rising institutional interest in crypto and growing demand for diversified, inflation-resistant portfolios.

If passed, the bill would position Michigan among a small group of US states, enabling public pension managers to hold crypto-linked assets under regulatory safeguards.

Mining linked to abandoned wells and tax breaks

In a bid to align crypto with environmental responsibility, Michigan’s HB 4512 and HB 4513 introduce an energy reuse programme targeting abandoned oil and gas wells.

Under the plan, Bitcoin miners would be allowed to power operations using these dormant energy sites, provided they remediate environmental damage.

Ownership transfers, well site assessments, and environmental progress tracking would be mandated under the bill, ensuring accountability.

In return, miners participating in the scheme would qualify for income tax deductions under HB 4513.

The measures are designed to attract miners with incentives while tackling legacy pollution problems.

The bills reference Bitcoin explicitly and focus on “orphan well programmes” as a potential win-win for the energy and crypto sectors.

State protection against CBDCs and digital discrimination

Another critical element of Michigan’s proposal is House Bill 4511.

This bill would prohibit state and local authorities from creating restrictions, licensing rules, or special taxes targeting digital assets solely based on their digital form.

It also bans any state agency from endorsing or promoting a central bank digital currency (CBDC), drawing a clear line between decentralised cryptocurrencies and government-backed digital money.

The legislation signals a strong defence of crypto users’ rights within Michigan, providing legal backing for miners, node operators, and token holders against targeted regulatory pressure.

If adopted, it could set a precedent for other states seeking to protect decentralised finance ecosystems.

Federal legislation aims to clarify developer rules

While Michigan pursues state-level crypto integration, Washington is moving ahead with national reform.

US Representatives Tom Emmer and Ritchie Torres recently reintroduced the Blockchain Regulatory Certainty Act, which seeks to establish clear boundaries on who qualifies as a “money transmitter” under federal law.

The Act would exempt developers and non-custodial service providers, such as those who build blockchain protocols or run interfaces that never hold user funds, from financial licensing requirements.

Only those who directly control consumer assets would be subject to oversight.

The lawmakers argue this clarification is needed to keep blockchain talent and startups within the US, rather than pushing them offshore.

“Today, @RepRitchie and I introduced the Blockchain Regulatory Certainty Act to protect blockchain developers and service providers that never custody consumer funds from unjust government prosecution,” Emmer posted on X on 3 May.

The bill aims to address regulatory uncertainty that critics say has slowed domestic blockchain innovation and led to uneven enforcement.

By drawing a regulatory line between developers and custodians, the bill hopes to ease legal pressures on creators and infrastructure providers.

Ethereum and XRP prices regain momentum as Bitcoin Pepe gains steam

Bitcoin price rallied to a fresh all-time high of $111,881 earlier on Thursday as the bulls eye $120,000. With the heightened risk-on mood, leading altcoins and meme coins, including Ethereum and Ripple, have recorded significant gains.

Notably, the Bitcoin-led rallying has attracted more buyers to the first meme ICO on the Bitcoin network, Bitcoin Pepe. The project, which is already experiencing a surge in investor interest ahead of its presale end on 31st May, is set to record 100X growth in coming months. Indeed, it has already announced CEX listings.

Ethereum ETF records streak of daily inflows as investor interest surges

Ethereum bulls have succeeded at defending the crucial support zone of $2,500; bolstering the top altcoin to a one-week high as Bitcoin reached a new all-time high. At the time of writing, ETH was trading at $2,683; slightly lower than the three-month high it hit last week.

In addition to the price action, US ETH spot ETFs are moving in tandem with the bullishness in the broader crypto market. Data released by SoSoValue highlights a streak of inflows over the past four sessions.

On Wednesday, BlackRock’s ETHA topped daily net inflows at $24.86 million. At the same time, Fidelity’s FETH recorded daily net outflow of $24.28 million will the rest in the top 9 list had zero flows.

On its daily chart, Ethereum price continues to trade above the 25 and 50-day EMAs. With the heightened risk-on mood, I expect the crypto major to continue holding steady above the crucial support zone of $2,500 as the bulls strive to hit a fresh 3-month high at $2,750.

Interest in Bitcoin Pepe skyrockets as Bitcoin hits new all-time high

On 11th February, Bitcoin Pepe presale started and in the first 90 seconds, it had already sold out stage 1. Indeed, it raised over $1.2 million on its first day as investors rushed to be part of this one-of-a-kind project. Its attractiveness was largely founded on its mission of using a Layer-2 solution to merge the meme culture and Bitcoin’s security. It sort to bring meme coins back home to the most secure network and investors were sold.

Three months later, that momentum has not slowed. Infact, since Bitcoin Pepe announced a CEX listing on 31st May, investors are rushing to amass some BPEP tokens at the current price of $0.0359. With its robust growth potential, this might be the lowest price that the meme crypto will ever get to moving forward.

So intense is the FOMO, that the project has raised over $1 million in just one week. Since the start of the 90-day presale, it has raised over $10 million. As the presale flows skyrocket and Bitcoin hits a new all-time high, crypto enthusiasts have a short window to enter the market and watch as their initial investment grows a hundred-fold. Hurry up and buy Bitcoin Pepe here.

Ripple price defies path set by bearish pattern as market sentiment improves

Over the past one week, Ripple price has largely been trading within descending trend lines as the market processed the court’s rejection of the Ripple Labs – SEC joint agreement request. As Bitcoin’s fresh all-time high boosts the sentiment in the broader market, XRP appears to be attracting more buyers.

A look at its four-hour chart shows the 25 and 50-day EMAs converging at the crucial support zone of $2.3865. With the probable formation of a bullish golden cross pattern, the range between that support zone and $2.4550 is worth watching.

Past that level, more buyers may bolster the altcoin to the next target at $2.5000. On the flip side, a pullback would place the support level at $2.3464 as the bulls keep the crypto off the previously formed descending trendlines.
