Bitcoin breaks $72k as MicroStrategy acquires an additional 12,000 BTC

  • Bitcoin price hit an all-time high above $72,000 as MicroStrategy added 12,000 BTC to its holdings.
  • MicroStrategy now holds 205,000 BTC acquired at approximately $6.91 billion.
  • BTC traded to the $72,211 peak to see its market cap hit $1.42 trillion and surpass Silver as world’s 8th largest asset.

MicroStrategy has added an extra 12,000 BTC to its Bitcoin holdings, the company led by Michael Saylor has announced.

Saylor revealed the major news on Monday, stating that the firm bought the bitcoins for approximately $821.7 million. MicroStrategy netted the massive haul at the average price of $68,477 per BTC.

According to Saylor, the company acquired the additional coins using proceeds from its convertible notes and excess. Earlier in the day, Saylor announced that MicroStrategy had secured an 800 million loan for a six-year period. The company used the money to boost its Bitcoin holdings.

“As of 3/10/24, $MSTR hodls 205,000 $BTC acquired for ~$6.91B at average price of $33,706 per bitcoin,” Saylor posted on X.

Bitcoin price breaks to new ATH above $72,000

Bitcoin price soared amid the new purchase, rising to a new all-time high above $72,000.

With MicroStrategy’s acquisition in place and the spot Bitcoin ETF frenzy still in full swing, its possible the price of Bitcoin could extend gains.

Earlier in the day, Bitcoin’s market cap flipped that of Silver to become the 8th largest asset in the world.

According to data from CoinGecko, Bitcoin price has reached a new all-time of $72,211.

Bitcoin hits new ATH above $71k;GALA surges as investors target Memeinator

With Bitcoin surging to an all-time high above $71,850 on Monday, the crypto community’s bullish sentiment has moved a notch stronger. As top altcoins look to mirror BTC, investors seeking other opportunities are buying Gala (GALA).

Also making a massive impression in the market is Memeinator (MMTR), whose presale is poised to hit the penultimate stage.

Memeinator presale reaches $6.2 million

Meme coins have outperformed in recent months. Top gainers in the category have included Solana-based meme coins dogwifhat and Solama. 

Dogecoin, Shiba Inu and FLOKI have also see decent upside movements.

Presale project Memeinator has also attracted massive attention amid the meme coin run, with its ICO accelerating through the last three stages. Now in stage 18 and its market debut just around the corner, the buying pressure is mounting.

At the time of writing, the Memeinator presale has raised more than $6.2 million. The token’s presale price is at $0.0261 and will increase to $0.0292 in the final presale stage.

GALA surges as BTC reaches new all-time high

As Bitcoin (BTC) extends recent gains to above $71,000, the top altcoin Ethereum (ETH) has broken above $4,000 for the first time since November 2021.

The gains for the top two cryptocurrencies by market have also cascaded into some top projects in the space. BNB, which spiked above $500 is one of these. Gala Games (GALA) is one of the coins trending today.

GALA price outlook

Gala (GALA) is one of the top performers in the crypto market over the past week. The price of the gaming platform’s native token has jumped more than 65% during this period, and 227% over the last 30 days.

GALA price reached highs of $0.08465 on March 11, its highest level since May 2022. The gains have come amid increased network activity and developments for the gaming platform. GALA prices rose sharply in late February after the launch of GalaSwap.

This week, the gaming community has reacted positively to the recent announcement around the ecosystem’s gaming title Last Expedition.

With GALA set to play a crucial role in the exchangeability of in-game currencies and rewards, a cheerful market is showing its confidence. A surge to above $0.1 will be a bullish trigger for more gains, potentially towards $0.2.

Memeinator: Is it a good buy today?

Memeinator launched its presale in late 2023, bringing to the market the native token of a new meme coin project with an ambitious roadmap. 

According to their whitepaper, the mission of this Terminator-inspired project is to save crypto meme from a bleak future.

AI and blockchain combine in this project to offer Meme Warfare, an AI-powered game that will see players destroy subpar meme tokens. As in the game, Memeinator also seeks to terminate all weak tokens, initially targeting a hostile takeover on its path to $1 billion market cap.
