LUNA rallies as UST surpasses BUSD in market cap

Terra’s UST stablecoin has surpassed Binance USD (BUSD) to become the third-largest stablecoin by market cap.

The cryptocurrency market has performed well over the past 24 hours. After a poor start to the week, the broader market has seen its value increase by more than 4% in the past few hours.

The excellent performance sees the broader cryptocurrency market cap rally towards the $1.9 trillion mark again. Bitcoin is trading above $40k after declining towards the $37k support level yesterday.

Ether is also trading above $3,000 again after briefly dropping to $2,800 earlier this week. However, LUNA, the native token of the Terra ecosystem, is the best performer amongst the top 10 cryptocurrencies by market cap.

LUNA is up by more than 16% in the last 24 hours, outperforming the other major cryptocurrencies in the process. 

The ongoing rally is fueled by UST’s latest milestone. UST is the stablecoin backed by the Terra ecosystem. According to the latest data, UST has now become the third-largest stablecoin by market cap.

UST’s market cap now stands at $17.5 billion, surpassing BUSD ($17.3 billion) a few hours ago. UST has grown by more than 1,000% over the past year, making it the fastest-growing stablecoin in the crypto market.

Key levels to watch

The LUNA/USD 4-hour chart is the most bullish amongst the top 10 cryptocurrencies by market cap. At press time, LUNA is trading at $89 per coin.

The MACD line crossed the neutral zone a few hours ago, indicating strong bullish momentum. The 14-day RSI of 61 shows that LUNA could be heading to the overbought territory if the rally continues.

If the bulls remain in charge, LUNA could surpass the first major resistance level at $95 before the end of the day. However, it would need the support of the broader market to move past the $100 mark for the second time this month.

Top-Kryptoanalyst prognostiziert, dass LUNA bis zu 50 % verlieren könnte

Ein weithin populärer Krypto-Analyst hat vorausgesagt, dass ein Untergang für LUNA bevorstehen könnte, mit einer Prognose, dass der Preis des Terra-nativen Vermögenswerts um mehr als 50 % fallen könnte.

Cred, ein Top-Kryptoanalytiker, sagte kürzlich in einer YouTube-Sitzung, dass die aktuelle LUNA-Struktur Anlass zur Besorgnis gibt. Sollte sie frühere Muster nachbilden (eine von Solana gezeigte Rückforderung nach einem Fakeout), dann haben sich die jüngsten optimistischen Preise zu einer massiven Bullenfalle entwickelt.

„Ich zeichne gerade eine Struktur vom höchsten Schlusskurs, dem Dezemberhoch, und dann schloss [die] Wochenkerze weit darüber. Es wurde ein neues Allzeithoch erreicht und die nächste Wochenkerze hat es bärisch verschlungen… Das ist ein gescheiterter Ausbruch aus dem Range-High. Das normale Ziel dafür ist das Tief der Handelsspanne… Die Tendenz ändert sich nur, wenn das Hoch der Handelsspanne zurückerobert wird oder wenn der Preis das Tief der Handelsspanne erreicht.“

Cred bezog sich auf den Zeitraum, nachdem Solanas SOL im März 2021 ein neues Allzeithoch erreicht hatte, und veranschaulichte, dass es sofort abstürzte und sich dann für eine Weile konsolidierte, bis es erneut den gescheiterten Ausbruchspunkt erreichte. Ungefähr zu dieser Zeit erlebte es eine anhaltende Rallye auf ein Allzeithoch.

Der Stratege beobachtete, dass LUNA ein klares Niveau und einen bestimmten gescheiterten Ausbruch aufweist – was bedeutet, dass es nicht gelang, das Allzeithoch vom 5. April zu durchbrechen. Er erklärte, dass dieser gescheiterte Ausbruch ein langfristiger bullischer Indikator sein könnte (wie im Fall Solana), trotz der derzeit unfreundlichen Marktbedingungen.

Darüber hinaus sagte Cred voraus, dass das rückläufige LUNA bei etwa 60 USD Unterstützung gewinnen würde, aber immer noch auf 40 USD fallen könnte. Er merkte an, dass der niedrigere Preis nur ein Preis am unteren Ende der Spanne sei und nicht wirklich die bärischste Situation.

Avalanche könnte trotz gescheiterter Rückforderung bullisch werden

In Bezug auf AVAX bemerkte Cred, dass der Token eine weitere fehlgeschlagene Rückforderung bei etwa 86 USD erreichte. Das könnte sich jedoch ändern, wenn sich der Markt wieder über 86 USD erholt. Dies würde die Wahrscheinlichkeit für einen weiteren Fakeout ziemlich gering machen, und es ist denkbar, dass AVAX danach möglicherweise in Richtung 115 USD gewinnen würde.

„Ich denke, die gleiche Logik gilt, wenn Sie eine Rückforderung von 86 USD erhalten, die Wahrscheinlichkeit, dass Sie einen weiteren Fakeout erleben, ziemlich gering ist und Sie vielleicht den letzten Schub in Richtung 115 USD oder zumindest durch die hohen 100 USD oder so bekommen.“
